Following the natural rhythm of the seasons, we embrace the change the vibrant autumn brings and prepare for the winter ahead. By working deep into the fascia to clear the energy channels we can restore balance and vitality. This is the time to connect in a loving, compassionate way to our inner beings and like the leaves on the trees letting go of what no longer serves us.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine the element Metal correlates with autumn and the corresponding organs are the lungs and the large intestine. The sequence will include yin poses which stimulate these meridian lines, to promote seasonal balance and harmony.
After a moment of centering and breath work (pranayama) the class starts with gentle Yang movement to prepare the body and mind for the stillness before transitioning into the sequence of Yin poses. The session finishes with a longer relaxation, to leave you feeling radiant, calm and grounded.
The workshop is suitable for all ages and all levels, whether you are a beginner or an experienced yogi, fit or not so fit.The beautiful yoga studio is in the former library room in the elegant Georgian Mansion, set in Beckenham Place Park. It’s equipped with lots of luxurious props to help modify poses for a deep individual experience.
